Dr Brendan Ashman
B.Sci (Clin Sci), MHS (Osteopathy)
Brendan graduated from Victoria university with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of health science in Osteopathy in 2016. Brendan’s first experience with osteopathy came during his teen years, after dealing with recurrent knee and ankle injuries suffered from playing basketball at a high level This is where Brendan become highly interested in the human body, specifically anatomy and rehabilitation.
While studying osteopathy Brendan spent time as an assistant coach with senior women’s basketball team also managing their injuries, before moving onto being a local AFL team as their sports trainer and later taking over as head trainer at the club.
Brendan spent 18 months working here in Bendigo from 2017 before being gifted the opportunity to work in Toronto, Canada for 2 years. During his time away Brendan was able to travel and grow his knowledge and experience in the world of Osteopathy.
Brendan enjoys treating a wide range of conditions including sports injuries, knee and ankle complaints, headaches and pregnancy related pain. He uses a wide range of techniques including soft tissue, myofascial, articulation, manipulation and muscle energy techniques to get the desired outcome for his patients. Brendan couples his treatments with his interest in strength and conditioning work to empower, assist and rehabilitate his patients.
Outside of work Brendan can be found watching a wide range of sports, include the NBA, NFL and AFL, working out at the gym, and catching up with his friends.
